Hmmm, a 49" monitor and fonts are too small; Are you running it at 4K resolution? How far away(from your face) is the screen. Is this an ultrawide screen? My 32" screens run at 1920x1080 and are at arm's length away and my only issue is old eyes.

I'd meant to ask the same question yesterday but the post got lost. Resizing options in the OS's Display settings change the game for 4K monitors. The default size is no bueno. Moving up just one click makes mix and edit windows fully legible from my distance of about 2 feet.

I don't disagree that a GUI reworking wouldn't be a strong asset, but I'm so accustomed to it that it's not getting in my way, IF the display is resized.

49" not 4k, as most aren't i'm at. 5120x1440,

so ye font is small, and i am not interested in changing resolution , as i want to use max resolution all the time,

so i just need bigger fonts, and yes, my eyes are aging

Agree. And what's with all the italics in 24.6? Regular was easier to read.

I get the sense that the devs just don't have the time for a whole UI/UX overhaul because they're constantly just scraping by keeping a 30-year-old underlying codebase stitched together to (sort of) keep up with modern machines and architectures.

No bad blood towards the devs, but it seems like expanding the team with new UI/UX people would be extremely beneficial. They just need to find people who really knew their stuff in that area.

Also totally agree, drives me crazy how often the solution to make Pro Tools work is to make your machine bend over backwards, changing OS-level settings, turning off useful features, etc. No other DAW I've used has required this.

A big display at 1080 is not adequate for large sessions. Not to mention some displays look terrible when not at native resolution.

I don't think adjustable font size is an unreasonable ask.

A complete facelift would be nice. The current one doesn't get in my way but that doesn't mean that it can't be better. This happens when a GUI starts simple and continually adds features. It's getting crowded.

Which other DAWs have great GUIs? I like a lot about Logic (but its edit window is awful IMO and the reason I steer away from it).

You’d expect a nice configurable UI wouldn’t you,
from the MOST expensive DAW ???

It’s time to step to the plate Avid
Those that don’t need bigger fonts can configure them to stay as is
But my eyes beg for legible fonts.

This is why I'd asked if you enlarge the Display preference. Of course larger fonts would be a good solve, but since that's not the case presently, and probably won't be for a while, this is how I, and many others, make fonts more legible. When my monitor is at its default 4K setting everything is too small. Increasing the Display pref by only one click changes the game. It doesn't matter that it's not its default setting if its default setting isn't legible. Keep in mind that resolution is relative to your distance from the screen. This might help squash that uncomfortable feeling that you're abandoning the primary advantage of a 4K.

yes, but i don't like the workaround, of changing to a lower resolution,
as that makes EVERYTHING bigger, and less sharp.
i don't want everything resized as i see ALOT less of my session,
i just want fonts resized

going from 5120x1440 to 3840x1080 does not work for me,

PLEASE Avid!!!!
