Re: Everyone stop using ARA right now
I'm another Melodyne user, but seldom with ARA.

Re: Everyone stop using ARA right now
This same issue and message turned up on a Logic Pro session I was doing last night. All of my ARA info was lost on all of the tracks. So it’s probably a Melodyne problem and not Pro Tools.

I feel for you... it happens to me so much.... it is a toss up whether the files have noticeable corruption or not. But when they do, it is really bad.

Re: Everyone stop using ARA right now
Hi Marianna (and everyone else who replied)
Thank you for taking this issue seriously. I have a pet theory that it is something to do with copying and duplicating clips from one track to another - almost like the ARA data gets corrupted when it is copied or duplicated onto another track: these are the tracks that lost their data when I rebooted the session. (Not that it really matters, but for info I was creating double tracks from one backing vocal by copying and moving from a later section to an earlier one, something that I’ve done many, many times, albeit without using this ARA workflow.) It is still losing this information even when I save and reopen the session. I would also like to try and investigate this further when I get the chance. I’m working away for the next week but will provide the info you asked for ASAP. I also agree that the only sure fire way round this for now is to commit commit commit, or to use the plug-in. It’s just a drag. |

Re: Everyone stop using ARA right now
On the Logic Pro session I did last night, the ARA vocal tracks sounded like none of the edits I made were there. Lots of slightly out of tune vocals. And then I opened up the same session that I had saved about 10 minutes earlier and the edits were there. It must be something about how Melodyne is saving the info.

Re: Everyone stop using ARA right now
It's commit, commit, and commit for me. ARA is such a cool way to use Melodyne that I can't see myself going back to the plugin. The plugin workflow was usually to put an entire track into Melodyne for editing. However, that doesn't work well with ARA. Short clips work very smoothly, and for now, I don't have any issues with ARA whatsoever. Looking forward to updates that will streamline the PT/ARA workflow so these workarounds will no longer be necessary.

Re: Everyone stop using ARA right now
Hate to be a victim blamer but whenever these threads come up, I’m blown away by how few people commit production-critical edits. ARA or not, its good practice to commit these things when you’re done.

Sure. That’s a good way to work to save yourself from potential issues. But… and this is a BIG but, if the software you’re using can’t recall the session state as it was when last saved, I’m sorry to say… it is NOT fit for purpose. You have to be able to trust the tools you work with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Everyone stop using ARA right now
I too just lost a TON of Melodyne edits in a HUGE project tonight due to the same thing the OP is posting. Previously on 2023.3 and earlier, I would see errors like this and then it didn't really lose anything and I'd just ignore these errors.
In 2023.6, I am getting these errors and now the pitch correction is really gone. !!! In fact, ARA ended up corrupting the session tonight to a point where I couldn't even open the session. The session goes to load and loads all of the tracks and then it would show some ARA loading bar and then crash the session. It totally killed the session and ended it early. I have spent the last hour and a half trying to salvage the session by importing sections into a fresh blank session and committing whatever Melodyne is done and then redoing the rest. In fact, I just about had it salvaged and now it won't open again!!! Ughhh! I just came to the forums to see if anyone else is having issues and found this post.
