Default Any HD owners using a 002 for remote tracking bands?

Any one out there using a 002 as a "B" rig to track say 16 ins at once? Then bringing it back to a main "A" HD or Mix + rig to continue with?

Anyone set up a "B" room around a 002?

If so, how's it going?

Thanks in advance!

we've recorded quite a few shows from the front of house using an 002. We generally have the 002 in a "B" room for basic stuff. The artist or producer (or myself) sometimes will tweak a session while something else is going on wih the HD rig.

We use an OctoPre so we have 12 mic pre's for live (+ the 4 line inputs).

Works great (I actually like the sound of the pre's on the 002).

Is the Octopre light pipe?

Can you detail the hook up?

Thanks!

Hey Jules,

Here's the web page for the Octopre:

I'm also interested in the B room scenario. We have an HD3 and need an extra system to do edits and overdubs. If we could also track with it on occasion it would be great. Are you limited to 8 inputs at 96khz? If you record 16 in utilizing the lightpipe, does the digi002 sample convert up to give you 16in at 96Khz? Also, what software version is the 002 using? Will projects go back and forth smoothly?
