Modular synth for Pro Tools
Hi!
Is there any other modular synths than Softube Modular that would work as plugin in Pro Tools? VCV Rack 2 is cool but does not support AAX. Anybody have experience with it using some VST-wrappers? |

AAS Multiphonics
Cherry Audio Voltage Kilohearts Phaseplant (a little different) And yes VCV Rack should load in something like Bluecat Patchwork. Haven't tried it recently though.

Re: Modular synth for Pro Tools
yeah pretty much the cherry audio stuff. Of course you can try the lovely softube modular.
Cherry audio is kind of a messy setup IMO but it can sound really good. But I found the other day they are so old school that the arps don't even tempo sync to the DAW for example, and you really need to learn how to program them as the presets are generally ordinary at best. I found softube modular much more immediate for modular noobs like myself. Although it's a closed system, it's a damn good one and they have released tons of module additions that do all sorts of wonderful things. I recommend it. Edit, please forgive me, I just noticed you mentioned it in your first comment, not sure how I missed that. Hmmm. Cherry audio then indeed, that's about all I know of with native AAX format.

Re: Modular synth for Pro Tools
Hey, another one. Multiphonics from AAS (applied acoustics).
They were the guys that made the amazing Tassman. This is the spiritual successor for modern OS and CPU but it's mono only. I have just recently messaged them to ask if there's any plans for a polyphonic model. In any case, it sounds wicked and I totally forgot about mentioning it. It's "big" sounding, so if you after a mono modular with a huge sound, for lack of a better word, you may like that one.
