Melodyne Studio "Editing Mix Fader" doesn't work with ARA

I came across this today as I was exploring features that are new to me since upgrading to the full version of Melodyne.

When playback is started from Melodyne and not Pro Tools, by double clicking at the top of the Melodyne ruler, the three fader positions indicate different behavior:

Far left: Only hear tracks being edited (orange)
Middle: Hear tracks being edited in addition to tracks selected as reference tracks (grey)
Far right: Hear tracks being edited in addition to tracks selected as reference tracks and also other tracks that are actively being Melodyned

This works as expected with the plugin version, but in ARA the mix fader does nothing. I'm not sure if it intended to be integrated into ARA, but needless to say it should work as expected or be omitted. That slider doing nothing at all in the Melodyne Studio ARA UI is confusing. Can anyone confirm?

Sorry to hear that you're having probs with this... maybe a 2023.12 bug??

We've been using this feature (in ARA on Pro Tools 2023.9) all week w/o problems.
It's working as it should. Rig Rundown in sig.

Hope avid TS is able to get you sorted.

Hey Rick, thanks for letting me know! I admittedly haven't tried that feature until updating to 2023.12. I'm not sure what the issue is here causing it to not work in ARA.

Just wanted to post the solution on the issue for everyone's awareness and hope this helps everyone having the same issue

Solution: Click anywhere along the edit window, NOT the timeline ruler, to begin playback.
