Default Mac Pro Dual Quad core compatable with HD pci core & accell cards?

It's time to upgrade to a new computer. On the new mac pro is there a benefit to having dual quad core processors or is a single quad enough? If I have an HD core card and 2 Accel cards does the computer utilize the extra ram you can purchase or is 6-8 gigs fine?

PCI or PCIe? You will need PCIe exchange or an expansion chassis to use PCI cards in a new Mac.

I would buy aftermarket RAM. Its great deal less expensive.

I have PT8 M-Powered running through a Dell Quad & 2 M-Audio Profire2626's It sounds amazing. The PCI HD core & Accel cards are selling cheap on E-Bay I thought it was time to upgrade. how do you connect an expansion chassis to your computer? and which one? I see a couple different ones on E-Bay?

Only one is qualified and it is the Magma PE6R4. It connects to the computer with a PCIe card that goes into the Mac Pro. Unfortuntely , I doubt that the ones you are seeing on eBay are the correct model. The current crop is still very much in use by the original owners.
