Bug when naming tracks on ptle 8
Anybody else have this little bug? When I try to name a track (for instance,
TAMBO instead of AUDIO 1) some letters will gray out the menu bar on the "track name" dialog box (m's & b's seem to do this) while others actually MINIMIZE the program and put up my Windows XP log-in page! It hasn't closed the actual program....yet. But there are some letters that just fail to respond. Which begs the question.....EH?????? PT8 le/cs-2 Win XP SP3 Asus P5PE vm/Core 2 duo 2 gigs ram An addendum....it might be a coincidence, but the weirdness started when I added a TL Space Reverb plug. I'll remove it and try something else and let y'all know. BTW, the "dots" on the eq (4 & 7-band) aren't movable right now either. Odd. Another update. Removed TL Space and everything SEEMS normal again...... |

I guess you have tried trashing preferences? Nice to be aware of the issue.

Re: Bug when naming tracks on ptle 8
I get that sometimes in 7.3 and also earlier versions. Not just when naming tracks but when doing anything that requires pressing certain letters on the keyboard. Like "r" will bring up the Run window, and "n" will start some sort of "accessibility" mode where the computer starts talking to you.
What you're seeing is Windows Start key shortcuts. PT is supposed to take over the keyboard from Windows so it can use Start+ shortcuts for its own purposes. But sometimes Windows fails to notice that the Start key has been released, in addition to sticking it's nose into PT's business, and that's when you get those strange and irritating wrong results. For me, it's usually caused by fat fingering or typing faster than the computer can keep up with under the load of the program. E.g., if I'm pressing something+Tab and I fat finger the Start key. The Start key was pressed while in PT but released while out of it. That can result in all sorts of unexpected behavior where you're kind of in PT and out of it at the same time. Sometimes pressing and releasing the Start key twice will set everything right. Sometimes I have to quit and relaunch. Thankfully, it doesn't happen very often.

Re: Bug when naming tracks on ptle 8
It's odd, I've NEVER experienced this one before upgrading to 8, and when I removed TL space it started acting normal again. So, note to self, if ya gotta use TL Space, throw it in there LAST.....
