Default Does anyone use B.L.U.E. Mics?

Hi all,
Just wondering who has used the B.L.U.E. mics and if they sound as good as they look.
I found a baby bottle for $450. I was going to test it out tomorrow (4/4) evening. Anything I should know?

I look forward to hearing you're comments. I saw it a Musicians Friend for about the same price.

I recently played with a Baby Bottle and a Rode NTK and was extremely pleased with the Baby Bottle's performance. I ended up going with the NTK because it fit the purpose I was looking for better and it was slightly cheaper. They both are great mic's and on my own acoustic guitars the Baby Bottle sounded killer.

Where I used to work we had a BLUE Dragonfly.

I loved it, I wish we had one where I work now.

Sounded fantastic on vocals.
More-so singing, than voice-over though.

Blue is making good mics, but they are far from neutral in character and for that reason can be somewhat limited.

I recently bought the Soundelux U95s, Blue makes the capsule and the cable used in this mic, Soundelux takes it from there to a mic that is superior to the Blue mic using the same capsule.

For what it's worth, I've noticed in the last year that none of the big studios I've worked in had a single Blue mic. I was considering one and so I was hoping to find one to work with before buying. I went with the Soundelux because every engineer I spoke with had nothing but good things to say about them.

I owned one of their U47 refurbs. What a great mic! I could kick myself for selling it but, I'm very close to buying a Bottle Mic from them.

I've also heard the Blueberry and I thought it sounded fabulous for the money as well.
regards,
Rick

Dragonfly was recommended by a friend over the RODE NTK when I was literally seconds away from buying. I love it!! Great on acoustic gtr's, and voices. A very accurate mic. The rotating capsule is a big advantage over mic's.
Put it into a tube mic pre=Heaven
