Re: Drivers for Audiomedia OSX!
there's no drivers for OS9, i really dont think OSX drivers for the AM3 are on their list. Will it work in DAE under osX when PT's gets it's port? probably. But OSX sound manager drivers? that's funny.

So I guess the OS9/AMIII situation was never worked out??
I have stuck with 8.6.1 and just stopped paying attention months ago... |

Re: Drivers for Audiomedia OSX!
The AM3 and the digi001 lack the input drivers as well under OS9. There's an Output driver so we can route audio out of sound manager apps but in is still gone.

Re: Drivers for Audiomedia OSX!
personally I think it's apple's fault we don't have audio inputs, I mean an audio in is a pretty basic feature, It's almost laughable that a range of powermacs dubed "Digital Audio" don't actually allow you digitise any audio without adding overpriced USB tat like the iMic.
You wouldn't need sound manager drivers for the AM 3 if the mac you were using it with actually had them itself. Remember, even if you did have an drivers for input, it would be limited to 44.1Khz 16bit, sure the quality of digi's analogue to digital converts will be way higher than anything the macs ever had out of the box but it's still not any better if you're limited to CD quality. Without at least an audio media III and a midi interface the mac's audio capabilities with regard to connectivity and sample resolution are inferior to the Atari Falcon and that was out nearly 10 years ago. Oh and even with a midi interface I doubt the timing is as good as an Atari's built in midi anyway. not that I've had a chance to test it for myself. |
