Yes indeed but so annoying... Any updates on this ? Does anybody had tried to reach out to AVID ? I can't believe they did this without an option ... unless maybe it's a big and they gonna fix that in another update ?

This is truly a terrible change, intentionally or just an oversight.

One solution is to have two select commands, with or without the Hidden Tracks. And also the other Restore command that is available in the Track List Menu

• Select Assignments to ... (only Shown Tracks)
• Select Assignments to ... (including Hidden Tracks)
• Restore Previously Shown Tracks

Has this glitch been fixed?
Does anyone know how to restore the "Select Assignment to" so that it only selects the tracks without showing the hidden ones?

Hi all, I would like to talk about bug PT-263050 in Pro Tools

When selecting a tracks input/output to "select assignments to" ,
instead of selecting the tracks, a glitch keeps showing the hidden tracks (and then selecting them), and as a result,
it makes several tracks jump out (from hidden) which ruins the entire layout of the session, causing you the need to restore the track layout each time.

I've tried hiding the inactive tracks afterwards, but some of the tracks are active and need to be hidden and some are not.

The tracks just need selecting (like it did before), without showing the hidden ones.
I've found that the bug first started happening after Pro Tools 2019.12
(so version 2019.12 was the last time this bug was not happening)

This bug is making it difficult to see where buses/inputs/output are being routed, especially during large sessions.
I find myself trying to correct which tracks should be hidden and which tracks should be showing repeatedly because of it.

I understand there are bugs to fix, just this one ruins the consistent flow of the session for me and would really appreciate an update from Avid to fix it.

Any thoughts and comments would help as this bug is constantly on my mind.

A possible solution could be to give 3 options when you Left-Click on inputs, outputs and sends:

1) Select Tracks (select assignments to)
2) Select & Show Tracks (select & show assignments to)
3) Show Tracks (show assignments to)


Please fix this

This won't work because some people hide tracks that are Active (and need to remain active), so it means the all the hidden tracks will still Jump out from hidden and destroy the layout of the session,
and now you have to look around find the all tracks that need to be hidden again and again, people can't work like this

I really hope they do fix this.

Another thing I do is every time I use this feature to "select assignments..." or "Show assignments..." I save a memory location that includes "Track visibility" Then after I use the feature, I recall that memory location.

This is a temporary way around it, but it would be so much better if this problem didn't exist.

Repeatedly having to interrupt the workflow with frustrating corrections and alterations throughout the session continuously effects your focus and creates a terrible workflow. Knowing where everything is routed is essential and needs to be presented to the user with ease (no additions needed), otherwise it's a constant reminder theirs problems
