Default Video in PT HD9 "standalone"

I am thinking of upgrading to PT HD9.

My question is: will I be able to run video (be able to compose to picture etc) in the "standalone" version?

I would like to be able to have a "home rig" (MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) where I can do this type of work without necessarily going to my main studio where my main PT TDM rig lives.

FYI: I have a Digi 003 that the stand alone could talk to for hardware purposes.

(apologies to all if this has come up before)

Can anybody help or is this the incorrect place for this question and should it go in the Post Forum?

You should be able to. I think without a toolkit it allows you to have at least 1 video track. I don't think you'll be able to use timecode as your counter though.

Its been quite a while since I've been on a PT system that isn't HD or without the Complete toolkit, so I don't know for sure.

PT HD software is the same features (i.e., everything) with or without the HD cards, minus, of course, the tdm specific features. It will be the equivalent of PT9 and Complete Toolkit, which is now equal to full HD.

So you will have all of the timecode, video, and surround features as you have in the studio. You can run it on your home computer, with or without an interface, and the interface (if you use one) does not have to be an Avid/Digi one.
