ProTools LE 8 Voice Recording & Editing help needed!

Here is my problem:

I have ProTools LE 8, version 8.0.1, used with a Mbox 2 and a Mac OS X, version 10.6.8

Digital recording is new to me, having last worked with analog systems about 20 years ago.

I want to do voice-over recording and editing. Merely record myself reading a script, and then be able to playback the recording and edit out any mistakes. I can record, but cannot edit.

I have not been able to find the info I need in the pdf manual. I suspect the terminology has changed since I last worked with voice recording.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
