Default PT 7.3 on macbook pro 2.2 GHZ Santa Rosa.......

Hi, just upgraded to the new macbook pro and although I seem to have succesful install the PT launcher cannot see attached digidesign (M-Audio) hardware) so I can't lauch PT .3 . I saw on the digidesign site that the MBP 2.2 is being tested, will 7.4 be a better bet or do I just wait form the digidesign gang to finish their tests?

Thanks

Ray

Have you installed the latest drivers from the M-Audio website for the M-Audio hardware that you're using?

I'm running 7.3 on a 2.4GHz MBP and it's great...actually seems speedier than any of our PTHD systems!

Like mentioned above, confirm you have the latest firewire drivers.

thanks, I have installed the latest M-audio drivers and all sems fine now. Is there a way to simplify the openning of PT ? right now I have to have bothe the Ilok and the hardware present at boot up, can I do it some other way so I don't have to always authorize with the ilok or vice versa?

Thanks

Ray

Nope, you have to have the ilok and hardware present to open. Always.

Once you open M-powered with the ilok you can unplug it if you want. I used to do it all the time with 7.3. Just make sure the plug-ins your using doesn't need the ilok to open. If you need that extra USB port.
