Default mbox1 vs madio interfaces

Hi everybody, i'm new on this board.
First of all forgive my poor english because i'm italian.
I own a mbox 1 and a g5 dual2.7. In the past i use to have a g4 dual 1.25 and a 001: this system looked to me more efficent compared to the new one, because the mbox sometime produce high white noises so i must restart PT again, moreover the cpu load keeps getting spikes on an average session. Reading around i discovered that the problem could lay in the usb connection. Now i would like to get a multiout interface and i'm thinking about a maudio product like a firewire 410... Any suggestions?

tnx in advance

There's only a tiny difference in CPU load between USB and firewire, not enough to make a difference on a Dual G5. If you're experiencing CPU spikes on low-load sessions, you should try the steps in the "General Troubleshooting" thread and make sure all your plug-ins are PT7 compatible.

If you're changing interfaces to upgrade to multi-outs, I've used the FW1814 and had good results. The Mic pres aren't as good as the ones in the Mbox or 002's, but it does have an excellent software control panel that allows you to do routing in ways that aren't possible with the LE interfaces which is very handy for eliminating latency while tracking etc.
