Default drag and drop from desktop conforms to session tempo

Hi,

Despite having selected "no files" for this preference! certain audio files will still conform to the session tempo and be converted to elastic audio

I have to use import audio dialog. which means i can't drag and drop into certain tracks.

This is a pain when i'm importing all the tracks of an entire mix! i think its come from acid?

Chris

Chris,

Just a guess, but have you tried disabling the little green metronome in the browser window, along with taking PT out of ticks mode? I seem to remember that they have some control over things like that. I'm really just grabbing at straws but if I can't try to help my Brit buddy, then what good am I? Taking PT out of ticks mode, I think, disables elastic audio functions.

Yes, the acid files have rex type meta data, so i would expect this normally, but as i have "no audio files" selected to conform! one would think it should just import it and put it on a track without elastic. but alas i have to use import audio and take the long route and have all the audio files come into the session in some random order then have to spend 30 minutes finding where things have been placed

This has caught me out a few times now! import someone's tracks and think... holy smoley that sounds weird

Chris, what Scott said, turn off the little green metronome at the top of the work space.
Catches me out sometimes.

Hi,

Don't think that effects drag and drop from the desktop!

The problem was the .wav's had acid meta data in them but i didn't know the client had bounced them from Acid pro.

Hi,

What you can do is consolidate the region and then export in the file menu.
