Default Tempo Mapping after the fact w/ Elastic Audio

I have some multitrack audio sessions that i have sped up slightly with elastic audio - they were not origibally recorded to Ptools click (drummer was playing to his own click). Now I want to do some editing and moving of sections/parts but there is no accurate grid set up -- So i'd like to set that up --- I have two questions

1) if i am happy with the new tempos, what Elastic audio setting should i be using before making a tempo map and doing my section/parts editing ? Rendered, X-form etc ?

2) for the tempo map, should i just use the bpm that elastic audio has listed in the project browser? or would i be better off using tab to transient and mark off every eight bars of the song.

Any suggestions for how to do this better?

Thanks,

OMO

Take the click track the drummer recorded to and use beat detective to create a beat map.

I would manually create my beat grid by using tab to transient in 8 bar chunks like you said. Its probably the most straightforward and least technically invasive way to it.

OK, thanks -- What do you think about the elastic audio component -- Say i wanted to change the tempo in the future and have the grid stay accurate in terms of bars and bpms - what state would you leave the elasticized track in to build the tempo map ?
