Hey , How about Digi 001.2????
What if digi instead of selling the 001 for $800 sold the digi 001.2 for $1000 with a upgraded clock??? Then offered us poorly clocked 001 users a chance to trade our digi 001 boxes for a factory refurbised digi 001.2 box for $200 + shipping and handling???
Please reply Digi. Arn't you guys just a little embarassed by that clock you put in the 001 and don't you want to DO THE RIGHT THING for us poor souls on a budget?? That is why many of us opted for the 001 over many competitive products!! I'm having a very difficult time getting the cymbals to sound smooth and these guys on the DUC are telling me I never will without spending another $1000. Are you not feeling just a little bit guilty??? Old Timer |

LOL...that's funny, do the right thing. In their minds they did do the right thing, they made y'all a new product that is almost 4x the cost for you to "upgrade" to.
Thanks, I had a crap day and I needed a laugh!!!!!!!! |

Re: Hey , How about Digi 001.2????
The clock in the 001 is no worse than the clocks in most of the similarly-priced boxes out there. I think that for Digi to substantially improve it would cost a bit more than $200, and even if it didn't most people would complain about the extra cost for something that doesn't "spec out" noticeably better (no improvement in S/N ratio, frequency response, etc)...if you really want to improve the quality of the clock, buy an Apogee a Lucid converter which will give you two channels of superior conversion (or an 8-channel RMA) along with a great master clock to slave the 001's onboard converters to.

Re: Hey , How about Digi 001.2????
If you want a better clock you could always get an Aardsync II with an AES to SPDIF transformer. That would make it sound a lot better, and you wouldn't have to send anything back to Digi . . .
