I heard that PT LE will have cards like PT HD. Sometime towards the end of the year.

I have used digidesign products since 1994. You can bet the farm that new stuff is coming. If you are still making payments on your current gear then you might be making payments on both systems. One never knows. It is hard to imagine Digi improving on what they have now so why rock the boat?

Feelings from a long time LE user

I love ProTools LE, also without all the missing software features that other companies has added years ago.

I'm selling my "old" Digi 002 rack and MBox 2 micro, now and I'm very confused which road to take.

Leave Digidesign or not?

I'm sure that the next MUST be the right Avid move!

I hope new great LE hardware coming out soon, especially from the AD/DA conversion area and Mac OSX CoreAudio integration, and of course, at least Automatic Plugin Delay Compensation.

Cherry on the cake:
  • RTAS CPU consumption only on active regions
  • keep Avid Audio HW specific requirement

For the rest I think ProTools now it's far away better (also to get inspiration for new tracks) than many other DAWs, and I mean BIG DAWs.

Can anyone see Avid making Pro Tools useable with any hardware in the future?

Or would we have to wait till they make just one Pro Tools for all their own hardware before they even begin to think about it?
