Pretty sure last sentence is not correct...As far as I know there was and is, no such thing as a discounted "Subscription renewal" price of $399 ,, the annual subscription price was and still is the same price as purchasing a subscription new for the first time. Which was $999 per year and is now $400 dollars less @ $599 per year

The only "renewal" price option (which is still $399 for Ultimate ) is to renew a current Perpetual license Update/Support plan.. And that has not changed

Again the only change is to the annual "Subscription" price which is now $400 dollars less ..... The announcement has nothing to do with the annual renewal price of a current perpetual license

Those of us who paid $1k for flex will get one year free. Thanks I suppose. I’m noticing more and more pros demoing software using DAWS other than Pro Tools. Perhaps AVID has picked up on this as well.

This pricing is related to Subscriptions and their Renewals - both were $999 and are now $599.

This is not related to Software Updates + Support Plans for Perpetual licenses (what you own).

Correct. An extra year has been added to subscriptions bought at the original $999 price.
