Default Help ... Does Protools 5.3.3 work with Windows XP?

Hi all,

Sorry if this seems archaic ... but I own an original Mbox with Protools 5.3.3. I haven't used it for several years (it used to work great) and wanted to do a little recording again. I installed Protools, plugged in the Mbox and rebooted as directed, no problems. But I blue screen immediately when I start Protools. So...

Does Protools 5.3.3 work with Windows XP (SP2)?
If so ... any suggestions to what's wrong?
If not ... any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

You can set up a second partition on your computer to boot to Windows 2000 or 98 (whichever 5.3 works for). I doubt very much that it works on XP, but I doubt even more that it works with SP2.

Otherwise, you can buy Pro Tools LE 7.0. If I remember correctly, it's $75

November 2002:

Quote:
Pro Tools LE 5.3.3 software brings Windows XP support to Mbox, and includes all of the functionality of Pro Tools LE 5.3.1 software in conjunction with support for the full hardware feature set of the Mbox interface. Mbox will work in tandem with Pro Tools LE 5.3.3 software and your PC to provide you with a high-quality, self-contained project studio.

i'm thinking it's an SP2 issue.
