It certainly works that way on a mac.
Each user that logs in has a new set of Pro Tools prefs in that user account's Library.
I've got no idea about PC's but I would guess that they work in a similar fashion these days.

I haven't seen that in Windows, unless each user has his own account. One way would be for each user to set up his preferences and save the prefs file in a different location from the default. Any user can then load his prefs when needed. Trasher is helpful for things like this.

Possible? This is how Pro Tools works… you get different user preferences when you use different Mac or Windows user accounts. There is no other way to achieve this, neither should there be, that is what user accounts are for.

That is what he is asking.
It's just a question, you are not obligated to answer.

And I answered his question, clarifying how to achieve this and it's the only way. Why don't you try adding actual value to a thread without useless editorial comments, or just piss off.

This functionality exists in Soundflow with their PT Prefs app and works well: you store prefs in several different presets, then recall them with the click of a button. I don't know the current status of Soundflow with Windows, but I know it's being worked on.

Thank you guys, you have been very informative!

So user accounts it is!

Off topic: Unfortunately soundflow is only available for mac... there's something wrong between PT and windows with the Alt key with every macro software I've tried
