Default NEED HELP PLEASE with UA 2192 and DIGI 002

Can't figure out why my mic inputs won't work going thru adat optical into digi 002, and i don't know how to configure the SETUP i/o's. Using Pro Tools 7.3 on Mac. It shows that the 2192 is the master, but can't get mic signal. Appreciate greatly any help. Thanks, Scott

Make sure you are not in low latency mode.

Don't take offence if you know this..but it's unclear what you have connected to the 2192.

It's not a mic preamp....plug your mic into an outboard pre and then into the 2192...then s/pdif into your 002.

Nice unit, by the way

No worries!! Thank you for even replying!! i had it working before going thru a daking mic pre/eq into la2a into bricasti m7 into 2192 using adat into digi 002, but then i tried to switch to spdif to go in at 96 vs. 48, but it wouldnt recognize the spdif as valid external clock source, so then i messed with the I/O in SET UP on protools and i dont know how to reconfigure them to go back to even using the ADAT optical again.
I have been researching everywhere, i am not a technical genius by any means in the computer realm! Now i just wanna go back to my ADAT connection and figure out how to set up the I/O's correctly to accept mic signal properly again. THX again for your help, i appreciate it very much! Scott

Question Re: NEED HELP PLEASE with UA 2192 and DIGI 002

Is the optical format set to SPDIF under the hardware setup? Also, I believe that you have to use the coaxial SPDIF to get above 48K. ADAT tops out at 48K. Have you tried coax cables and the 96K setting yet?

Exactly, yeah i was doing fine with adat at its max 48 but wanted to try spdif because it could do 96, i have one digital coax cable from monster 600dcx? that i tried via spdif going from ua 2192 spdif out to digi 002 spdif in but when i went to hardware and selected clock source spdif/ optical format spdif, it said invalid clock source. My adat cable i know works at 48 with pro tools yet now after i changed around my I/O's i tried to switch back to adat at 48, the digi recognized the 2192 thru clock source optical, optical format adat, yet when i tried to record, i wasnt getting any mic signal, and i know its not the compressor, reverb, or preamp, i need to configure my I/O's again back to what they were but i forgot how i had them. Hope this doesn't all sound too ridiculous, i am desperate to record today and really appreciate your help. DO you know how i could reset my I/O's to work with the adat input at all? THX again Scott

Try clicking on the default button for input, output, insert and bus individually in the I/O config. If that doesn't work for you. Quit PT and trash your DigiSetup.OSX pref. If you have the ProTools Pref and Database Helper app.(an absolute must), it is the first option at the top of the list.
