Default Can you add more spdif inputs and outputs to 002?

Hi I have at least two digital devices (SPDIF) that I want to run into my digi 002 rack at the same time (seperate tracks). Therefore I can't use the opctical and coaxil inputs together because the 002 only lets you use one at a time. (Basicly I want to have 4 spdif paths in my I/O setup rather than just the two) (I use 96/88.2k so I can't use the ADATs)

So is there something I can buy that will add two more spdif inputs/output tracks to my 002? I currently have my A/D D/A (rosetta 200) converter going into the spdif on the 002. I want to add on my effects processor unit spdif.

I guess I would need something that has 2-4 spdif inputs on it. Then it would have one spdif output that I would plug into the 002. Then in the I/O setup in Pro Tools I would have to be able to add the additional spdif inputs and outputs. (this way I can recorded each spdif input on it's own track) Is this possible. If so what would I need to buy?

Thanks for the help.

You can use 2 SPDIF instruments thus:

1. Plug 1st instrument into coax input which is set to SPDIF.
2. Plug 2nd instrument ino SPDIF to ADAT converter, then optical cable from converter to optical input which is set to ADAT. You can use an ADAT to SPDIF converter to do the round trip in a similar manner.

Thanks for the info. That works great at 44.1k but no luck with the 96k. The 002 rack doesn't recognize ADAT above 48k. I never should have used 96k I got so used to it now it's hard to go back to 44.1. I guess that is what I might have to do. Thanks

For the record I searched all around the world and there is no way to do this at 96k on the 002. It has to do with the hardware. Seems I either gotta go 44.1k or go analog with the spdif unit. Tough call. Bumber first thing I wanted to do on it that I couldn't. We need an 003.
