Audio-Technica ATM-250 Micing a Bass Cab
I'm considering purchasing a few new mic's one is to mic a bass amp/cab.
I'm reading about the ATM-250 mic and these seem excellent value for money and have good characteristics for a bass amp. Would anyone care to take a look and pass comment on their thoughts ?or even better if they have one of these mics, feedback would be most appreciated. |

Re: Audio-Technica ATM-250 Micing a Bass Cab
I used the ATM25 for live shows and it was good, for recording it's ok but with a lot of background noise.
I also tried AE2500 it's a dual capsules microphone on a bass drum during a show, one dynamic and one condenser. It's more expensive, but it was amazing. If you can, rent different type of microphones at the same tim, try and compare them. It's preferable to spend 100$ on renting those microphones than to get stuck with 1000$ worth of microphones that you don't like. It may be wise to also check for a high quality pre-amp as it may make your actual mics sound better. JC |
