Default cleaning audio

Hello ya'll,
I was wondering what you guys and/or gals think about Bias SoundSoap for cleaning up some old 2 trks... might even have to get some of the audio from a 25 year old record/album. I need to add a few old tracks to some new stuff I'll be cutting to create a 30th anniversary project. I want to get the old tracks sounding as good as possible... without buying the $2400 Waves Restoration bundle.
Anybody loving Soap? Using with PT or in Peak? Other ideas?
Thanks, BT

Yess!

definatley, go cedar! Waves is ok for "mini"-dehissing also.
...but again, only use these plug ins for dehissing or decrackling... for everything else use the cedar (DNS 1000 is "cheap" to rent). Its esential for me mixing TV feature films.

or check out Algorithmix think they even transferred their code to samplitude pro...

cheers,
m.

you can also get the waves restoration NATIVE (for 1200 list), most of the times you will use it as Audiosuite anyway, so you don't really need the TDM version. If this is not one time job, it would be more money wise to purchase your own stuff instead of renting every time...

This will probably be a one time deal. I'm not really looking to get into audio restoration. This project is for a band I played with when I was a kid and their budget is tiny. That's why I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive like Soap to do the job.
I'll check into Cedar as well but was hoping to hear from somebody out there who might have used Soap for this kind of project. I'll probably end up downloading the demo. For some reason every time I demo something... half a day dissappears.
Thanks for all the input.
BT
