Default What's a good Bass Guitar Virtual Instrument?

Hi all,

I used to use the fender sound on the Plugsound Fretted Instruments RTAS before I moved to Intel.

The Bass Guitar sounds in Xpand! 2 are not to my liking at all.

What are my options? - is there a good Bass Guitar sound within a Module or are there any good Bass Guitar Virtual instruments?

I don't use iLok and don't want to use it, which cuts out many of the things that I have seen. I don't want to discuss why I'm anti iLok, so if you know of any good Bass Guitar sounds for RTAS that are available then please post a reply.

But I really don't need to hear about the iLok ones.

Thanks.

SampleTank has a selection that may work for you, although I went and bought a real Jazz bass and just play the parts now.

If you have 8.0 there are some pretty good bass patches in the Structure Free plug-in.

I'm a bass player and I actually find the SVT and Bassman patches in the Sansamp plugin (PT8) to be pretty accurate. I own a real SVT classic and the plugin does a pretty solid job compared to the real thing. I'll typically use that when I play with a pick and the bassman setting when I use my fingers. Changing a few of the parameters can really make a so-so sounding setting sound very useable. In my opinion, at least.
