Default Plug-ins not found?!

I'm on a Macbook Pro Duo Core 2 2.33 15 inch, running PT 7.3.1.

I copied my system drive over from my G5 tower. PT runs fine, and I can open sessions from a LaCie external drive, but many plugs have gone missing ("The following plug-ins were made inactive because they could not be found in the plug-ins folder."). When I try to activate a plug, I get a similar error message. Oddly, the BF76 plug comes back to life.

I've checked the plug-ins folder, and they're all there. Also they're listed in the plug-ins alias folder. What's going on?

Among the missing are Maxim, Bomb Factory Fairchild 660, Sansamp, Focusrite D2/D3, Analog Channel 3.0, Massey Mastering Limiter, etc.

What can I do?

Wait a sec... now I've found a few different plug-ins folders. Where, exactly, is the plug-in folder where my plugs need to be?

I've installed all the latest updates for these plugs, too.

Any luck on this. I see no one responded to your inquiry. I had the same problem when I installed my PT 7.3 on my macbook. Ableton appears as a plug-in, although I do not see an Ableton plug-in file in the PT plug-in folder. Intakt, however, appears as inactive. There is an Intakt plug-in "carbon" icon in the PT plug-in folder. Don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

Matt

No help or advise for me yet, sorry to say. I have to cancel a tonight's session!

I've checked ilok.com and all my licenses appear fine. But when I run PT I get the "Authorize" nonsense for most of the plugs (the old Bomb Factory stuff). Other plugs like Smack!LE, which I purchased online from the digistore, don't even get a chance.

I can see the plugs in folder in Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-ins. My ilok is the same as it was on my previous machine.

Help Digi please!

Check your disk permissions.
If necessary give your user ID full access.

For the plug-ins that you're expecting to be working - what are the version numbers for them in the folder you indicated (which is the correct place they need to be installed)?

If they are not version 7.0 or higher, then that's the problem - you need the Intel compatible versions of all installed plug-ins for them to work in your machine.

All these plugs work with 7.0. That's what I was running on my old G5 Tower. I've installed the recent Intel-compatible versions for all of these plugs. Should I uninstall PT and reinstall 7.3.1?

ForumLE- how can I do this? Are there instructions in one of the stickies?

Just checking, but the "Universal" is the version I should have installed, correct? (Universal means Intel-compatible, as opposed to PowerPC)

Alright, made some progress on my own.

Moogerfooger Bundle, Sansamp, and Fairchild 660 (all legacy Bomb Factory) are no-gos. The latest Universal Binary versions are installed. This website says they won't work on PT 7 without authorization (which I obtained when I purchased PT 7 online). As such, I've sent an email to Digi's customer service, whose automated response says they'll get back to me within 3 business days.

PSP VintageWarmer has a new version, and the old one won't work on Intel Macs. They want $49 to upgrade to the newer version. Sionara, PSP.

Analog Channel is working now (I confused the "Native" version with the "HD" version). I found that out when I looked at my ilok licenses. I chalk it up to an inconsistency in the rhetoric.

Is there any way to run the Dynamics II on an intel mac with PT 7.3? Or are they gone forever? I like having a gate without the 96 sample delay.

When I installed PT 7.3 last week, my plug ins were also missing. As soon as I installed the update of 7.3.1, they all magically reappeared. I have no idea what the problem was, and I dont care as long as they are still there.
