Default file pathnames in PT7 getting PC

Since upgrading to PT7 AND OSX 10.4 I now can't save into existing folders because I have a character (/) in the name that never used to be a problem. Now I get a pop up message telling me I have an illegal character in my pathname. It wouldn't be such a problem if I hadn't created so many sessions in this master folder and re-naming it opens up a whole new tin of worms. Is there a preference somewhere for file pathnames which will enable normal Mac operation? Are we getting a bit PC with this stuff?
