Default PT 10.3, MIDI Out and an E-Mu Proteus 2

I grabbed an E-Mu Proteus 2 off eBay for $50 just to play around with - I like the old school 16-bit sounds. Anyone here familiar with it?

I'm connected via a MIDI cable from the MBox Pro MIDI Out (on the breakout cable) to the Proteus 2 MIDI In. Simple. I have selected MBox Pro External in the MIDI Studio settings for my Proteus.

My question - how do I route my 2 or 3 MIDI tracks in PT to separate channels on the Proteus (to trigger different sounds on the Proteus). One MIDI track would be CH 1 - Pizzicato Cello, CH 2 - Legato Strings, CH 3 - Oboe.

I can set those 3 Proteus patches each to a CH01, 02, or 03 via the Proteus EDIT feature - which I assume are the MIDI channels. ANY HELP would be appreciated.

I am bringing it all back in L/R via the Proteus outputs into my Analog 3/4 of my Mbox Pro (3rd Gen), letting volume and pan be controlled via my PT MIDI track. (And boy, could the Proteus use some gain! I had to crank my 3/4 Inputs to the max).

I'm probably missing a dumb but crucial step to write and send multiple MIDI "parts" to the Proteus to recognize it.
