PT quits when accessing audio drive in workspace.
I have been trying to import a loop track into my session. The loop file is on my external hardrive. As soon as I click on the hardrive in the Workspace, Pro Tools quits and ends my session. I moved the file onto the desktop to access it, and I had no problem. I can do this every time, but it is a pain in the ass. Has anyone ever had a problem with this?

Re: PT quits when accessing audio drive in workspa
What make hard drive do you have and is it firewire. Some hard drives, Western Digital in my experience cannot have there sleep feature disabled regardless of the checkbox in the energy prefs. If the hard drive spins down it can take a while to wake it and in which time Pro Tools has bombed.
You could try working the hard drive and then immediately try and import to Pro Tools to see if it is a spin down problem. Hope it helps
