Default 003 rack firmware update failure..
i am using 003 rack with protools,everything worked perfect till date,but from 5hrs m trying to update firmware of 003 rack but after approx. 20 mins it quits protools and again midi leds starts blinking,what should i do?Need urgent reply,Thx in advance....

Very often, you can skip the firmware update and all will work. Its also not uncommon for the update to fail a few times before it takes. If you have work to do, skip the update. Otherwise, try it again a few times or search the DUC or tech support for the button combo to force the update.

i had same problem before.what i did was take everything else off of the firewire bus,so just digi 003 was connected firewire,then update worked fine.hope this helps

Yeah I had this problem right when I updated to 8.0. I got rid of my usb dongle and it whipped right through it. Just make sure you don't have anything unnecessary when letting update. If it's not a keyboard/mouse/ilok/firewire for 003, then unplug it.

The third time's a charm, at least it was for me. I never even thought about unplugging all my USB crap. That really might make a difference. Good luck.

My update took nearly a half hour the other day. I was getting nervous, but I just walked away.

Have you tried a different FireWire cable? Just a thought.
