Default Major vulnerability in Big Sur

While over at Gearspace (used to be Gearslutz) a fellow posted a link to an article about a vulnerability in Big Sur. According to this article: https://techcrunch.com/2021/04/26/sh...Q_Wfd4DcMGzizP

installing macOS11.3 fixes the problem.

Ugh. Another OS update. Just when we thought Avid caught up to Apple's relentless updates, this new OS update comes out and here we go again. I'll try to update tonight as I'm in the middle of something right now. Hopefully nothing breaks. Now where's my backup/clone drive?

Ok. Just updated to MacOS 11.3. Started Protools 2021.3.1 (Vanilla) and it started up a little slowly but eventually opened. Loaded up a demo session and played back fine. All my plugins seem to be present and working, VI's are working okay too. I noticed that a new version of Avid Link was available too but I never use it.

Did you have any video files in your session?

Sometimes I just ignore updates, sometimes I have time to do it. My computer had uptime of 56 days since previous update, now needed to force a reboot. This security update looked like it is worth it. Otherwise I am not booting my computer that often.

Nope. I use Protools strictly for audio. I use Final Cut Pro for video.
