I'm working at 24-bit/44.1kHz, the Octopre shows a green "locked" light, the 003 shows a green ADAT synch light, the Octopre analogue outs work if I switch the AD DA switch off, the ADAT inputs to the 003+ work, the ADAT 8 ins and 8 outs show up in the Digi I/O setup, and the clock is set to Optical and it all runs nicely EXCEPT that those 8 additional outs (which are crucial for my tasks) are silent.
This is confusing me

So you can record if the adat inputs work

You appear to be saying the adat 8 ins and 8 adat outs work because you say it all runs nicely.

I have a Rosetta 800 and it gives me 8 adat ins and 8 adat outs in addition to the 8 ins and outs from the 003.
What additional outs are you referring to. Now I'm confused
You only get 8 in and 8 out is my understanding.

We will either get to the bottom of it somehow.

Using a adat/lightpipe setup for more track inputs has caused a big learning curve to users but it is usually user error. Not saying that is your issue but when I hooked up mine I did a google search and there were so many hits I could not read them.

Good Luck

From what I understand reading all this is while everything LOOKS okay he doesn't HEAR BACK anything recorded. Is this correct?

You're right but you can put a link up for: stashbox, photobucket etc. Many of us do it all the time. http://stashbox.org/812014/PT.png

The plot thickens, the waters simultaneously clear and muddy... but in a positive way!!!

I set myself up ready for my client, Logic primed and ready to go. My client calls; he's running an hour late.

Ho hum, I think... nothing to lose. So I go to the I/O setup and delete all the ADAT paths. I then create new ADAT paths....... BINGO!!!!!!
Comments from Digi support would be most welcome: I don't understand it, but I've got a working rig.

My apologies for venting my spleen here and my gratitude to all you who offered help.

Back to work

I think your solution is to get rid of protools le and go with any other daw out there. I'm sorry guys but it's not just logic it's EVERY other daw out there that's ahead of the game. Stop making excuses and dealing with this company..debate all you want but you will eventually come around just like everyone else and realize it is just not worth it, my digi002 is going this week!
