What can I do to get around Increasing the Buffer Size?

I keep getting the increase buffer size popup... Is there any way to get around increasing it? like upgrading my computer in any way? because when I increase it the latency is so bad I can't even use it.


I'm not recording to an external Hard drive, if that could be it. Why should I and if I should what should I get? brand speed firewire/usb I really need some help here.

Things that would help. It looks like you need a dedicated Audio drive-Thats a must.

Add a video card to unload the CPU from Video rendering.

Disable the card reader.

turn of the LAN and Wireless card.

Defrag the HDD.

Back up the audio and session data before defragging. Actually, defragging is considered "undesirable" by many here.

We (us users and even Digidesign Tech support) already covered this in Your Other Post i thought very clearly. Was there some kind of mis-understanding?

Here's an external drive that is recommended: Mercury Elite Pro, but you would also need a firewire interface to be able to plug it in.

Isn't the Emachines PC that you are using a desktop? Why not just add an internal drive to the system? That would probably work better (and be cheaper) than an external drive.
