Default *PANIC* pt9 has saved a session as a ptx file. Client here and I can't open it!!

Hi

I'm running Pro Tools 9 on OSX 10.6.8 and a few days ago worked on a recording session and all was fine. Came to open it today and saw that the session file and all the session file backups are saved as .ptx which I understand is a PT10 format. Anyway, it won't open.

I don't have Pro Tools 10 installed on my system at all. Although I did install a while ago to test it, but decided I didn't want to upgrade and so completely removed it.

I opened the ptx file in Textedit and it says it's a pt10.0.0 session file in the file header.

How on earth can I open it? I have no Internet access worth talking about here, so can't download PT10.

Cheers,

Jeremy

Very strange. I'm wondering how PT9 saved a file to a format it doesn't even know exists?

Anyway, you could try duplicating it (in case this goes wrong) in the Finder, and manually changing it to .ptf and see it it'll open that.

Otherwise, I think you're in an alternate universe.

Just rename the extension back to .ptf
