Default synth pitch question for the all synth experts

Hey, guys. I'm trying to do a trick with my synth in which the pitch of a synth rises WITHOUT using automation or pitch bend. In other words, I am trying to make a synth go higher and higher in notes CONTINOUSLY. Someone told me that this was possible adjusting an oscillator setting on the synth. Does anyone know? The sound that I am going for is a kind of '70's rising synth sound that they have in a lot of old television shows / movies. Thanks guys!

Sounds like a Portamento sweep is what you're trying to accomplish. Raise the value and then go from, say, C3 to C4.
Enjoy.....
