Default Projects Saved but un-openable

I have 2+ years worth of projects still being worked on.
Been diligently backing them up to external SSD aside from saving to PC HD.

Couldn't tell what folders contained so I renamed one to - IT'S NAME! - now PTF won't open it - even after I undid rename, that project remains in limbo.

MY GREAT CONCERN is I won't be able to open any projects after I upgrade PC and/or Hard drive - or if the wind changes.
I notice projects won't open from PTF project folder nor from my backup.

Very stressed at this state of vulnerability of all my hard work and art.

Can't afford full version, though I would def consider buying if it didn't have wanky subscription scheme. (Am I right?)

Please help. Thankyou.

I'd probably avoid these characters, even if they are supported in later OS or programs.

It makes no sense if you have reverted the name(s) but can't open the project. What's error messages are you getting?

Thanks for reply.
I really had to hunt for it - wasn't in notifs - even kept refreshing browser.

I had renamed the project using only common letters, no spaces.
Maybe I hadn't undid, I may have wrong recollection of that. I think I could not undo cos original name had not been retained in clipboard by the time I tried.

Error msg is always:

>Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document (-20006).<

I tried the backup file, even the wave cache - all same result.

Reading his posts and by his mention, PTF can only be Pro Tools First.
