Default ASIO/Wave Driver help

I'm new to the PC side (typically on Mac) and am having trouble with the ASIO & Wave Drivers for my HD rig. Here's what I got:

Macbook Pro running Windows XP Professional SP2
Protools HD2 Accel in Magma 4 slot chassis
Lynx Aurora 16 interface

This system runs great on my Mac Partition, but all I want to do on the Windows partition is use my converters for other apps, no Protools. I installed the Digidesign Audio Drivers 7.0 and I can select channels 1 & 2 in XP's Sound Control Panel. When I go to use Windows Media Player it gives me this generic error saying it doesn't work, and "maybe" it's in use by another application, but in the Sound Control Panel it says it's functioning fine. All I really want to do is run the Rightmark software through my converters - no Protools.

Is this driver permanently broken? I've read a lot of bad news on the DUC about it throughout it's history. Has anyone had success using their Digi converters for anything other than Protools?

The only other application I use digi drivers for is CD Architect, and I use Rail's MME helper to do that. Have you tried using MME helper?

I did. I've added all the applications to the list, but it still gives me errors.
