I see no reference to mod´ing Digi001s here... either.

im not trying to spread a rumour...i was told in an email from BLA that they can do the analog stages and the pres...other people have been told the same...

Take the risk and give it a try. Just figure out a way to test the converters before and after... If it is only $250 that isn't too much especially if it makes the 001 converters usable. It is kinda tough to do when the 001 is only worth about $200.

I posted a 001 mod on the TapeOp board a couple months ago which upgrades channel 1 and 2 preamp IC's:

It has nothing to do with the clock, converters, or software. Just the 2 channels.



EDIT- btw, people have asked if I wanted to do the mod to their 001's and to be honest, no. It can be done in an hour or so by any good tech with surface mount experience.

So which channel was the mod? #2 sounded a little brrighter. Maybe a little more detail.

i just setup an appointment to have my 001 modded, analog stages, pres and also installing a new BLA clock too. $350. i should have it back by the end of january and will let everyone know what i think.

Yep, channel 2 was the modded one.

Somebody should look at the pre's in a 002 and M-Box. If its the same type of situation then it would be a worthwhile upgrade.
