Default Bass,Synth and string Virtual Insturment???

I am new to virtual insturments and I am looking for something with realistic Bass, Piano, syth, and string sounds for use with My PT LE system on a mac?

These can be individual plugins.

Any suggestions?

Reason is a good start and has everything you are asking about.

Whether or not they are realistic enough for you is really a matter of opinion. You should try it for yourself.

How much money are you willing to spend? If you want to make a modest investment, go for Reason 3 and add a stringrefill... If you on the other hand want something better, I would say...

Bass - Trilogy...
Piano - Ivory...
Strings - Kontakt 2.11 has some really good VSL-strings for little money

Just stay away from librarys with 16-bit samples...

Ok I really like the Trilogy product for bass. Now to add a question what midi controller?

I have M Audio 02 and I am sure that would work fine but what I do not like about it is haveing to switch to get different octives. I would however like to stick with M-Audo for a controller and suggestions on which one would give me full range. http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=...ardcontrollers
