Default R.I.P Robert Palmer

Died at age 54 - heart attack....

i will always remember this clean cut suited rocker for the beautiful female look a - likes in his videos with the guitars hanging on them with extremely boring looks on their faces..

He must have enjoyed that shoot....my prayers go out for his family.

There's been a hell of a lot of people dying in their 50's in the past few weeks. Pretty scary.

bassbuddy: i think one should remember his music, not the way he looked, but maybe i'm wrong...in any case more a musician than a lot of suckers out there, an underrated talent...in this sea of madness...

Good point hmorovic....but where did I imply that I didn't think he was a very gifted musician? The fact that I commented on his "look" was because unfortunately artists get pigion holed at the beginning of there careers, or should I say the beginning of their fame. He became well known in the States when he released " Simply Irristible"..

Although i have to admit,I don't know much of his on going work.

Definitely a major class act. His music was hip, helping to bridge beyond the post-disco, modern rock, new wave, (fill in the blank___________), more image driven stuff. Let's get real. Who didn't envy this cat, coming in smooth and strong (nice suit!), with a bevy of babes, while also making a pretty interesting artistic visual statement? He hit his mark...we're talking about him. Palmer wasn't specifically a musician, he was an artist and performer. Pretty cool...and gone at 54...
