Re: Plugs on ilok - Won’t Authorize

So, I can safely say I’ve exhausted all options. Either they’re corrupt or iLok has decided to lock out extra licenses in our accounts to stop people from using legacy systems. Would they stoop that low? |

As far as I can recall none of these licenses were affected by major revision bumps (like Eleven -> Eleven II) or had higher end TDM vs RTAS licenses... but that getting so old now I'm not sure I trust my recollection there. Hopefully Charles @ Avid sees this thread and can have a look at what might be going wrong. And since I opened ILM to look at my own licenses and was playing around I just noticed several AIR Music licenses that I had gotten to make doing stuff on Logic Pro easier that just never worked are now working and I had given up before. Go figure, sometimes this stuff is such a... searching for polite word ... mystery. |

Re: Plugs on ilok - Won’t Authorize
Haha well that's good on your end!!
I cleaned up the plugins and trashed all prefs again, and after all this more stopped working...BUT, what's interesting is that they're nearly ALL AVID plugins that are the problem, with the exception of Trigger 2? |

They're very much authorized to this iLok though, as you can see...

Re: Plugs on ilok - Won’t Authorize
Ok…I tried a few more things tonight:
1. Synchronized the ilok on a new rig with latest ilok software - nope. 2. Since the license of Trigger 2 on my mix system would work on the new system, I swapped its license with the one on the HD10 rig…nope, doesn’t work. 3. I read someone having issues in 2022, and their fix was remove all licenses, synchronize ilok, then drag them all over. Nope…I even syncronized when it was empty, and when they were loaded back on again. I’m quite sure I’ve now exhausted every situation that I can think of. Somehow these licenses are corrupt, but only on HD10 with Mavericks…or maybe it’s that last version of iLok software that runs on this system…I have no idea anymore. |

Re: Plugs on ilok - Won’t Authorize
This is an unacceptable response. So every single AVID user here that wants to use a legacy version of OS and the licenses they paid for - according to iLok, too bad, they don't support it.
What? |

Yep Pace/iLok have their heads up their asses again. You would think they realize they are in the business of providing perpetual licenses that just work.

Some more testing I did today: 1. Brand new install of Mountain Lion (yes, I rolled back even further)...nothing installed except PT HD 10.3.1 and X-Form...says license doesn't exist. 2. I bought yet ANOTHER brand new iLok3 and transferred all the licenses on there...nope, says the licenses don't exist. I challenge anyone that has ever used iLok and Pro Tools to solve this one. Clearly, we're on our own and iLok has abandoned us - and, truthfully, anyone who ever wants to install a legacy system ever again. I suspect they've done this on purpose to stop users from accessing this old stuff, forcing everyone to continue upgrading. I also suspect it could be something to do with the firmware that's being installed automatically on an iLok - currently, all on V102.2 (I've never updated firmware on an iLok, have any of you?). But if this is the case, then why does our original iLok authorize and run these plugins? It all makes very little sense and goes against everything I thought I understood about iLok and its operation for the last 20+ years... |

Re: Plugs on ilok - Won’t Authorize
Those AVID licenses as well as that copy of Trigger2 is clearly corrupt in some way that it refuses to work on 10.9.5 - nothing else makes any sense. They were all dormant licenses from our account, and only now have I transferred them to a physical iLok (or cloud) and they won't work.
