Free PT10 upgrade download, is it full installer or do I run PT9 first?

I purchased the Mbox/PT9 bundle with free 10 upgrade. Do I install PT9 first and put the PT10 on top of it, or just go straight to install the PT10

When I go to iLok it asks me to surrender my PT9 license to get the PT10 license, so want to make sure I don't need that first. HELP

Unsure if just an upgrade or full installer. Anyone with experience?

BTW Avid, GOTTA make this process simpler or spell it out

I got the same deal, the upgrade to PT 10 gives a standalone app, you don't need PT 9 anymore, but to ease the transition, in case of problems, if you are in windows, create a restore point for your PT 9, the new license is a bundled PT9/10 license, or so it says, but I haven't gone back to 9 to find out, good luck

The new authorization for your iLok will authorize both 9 and 10. As always, the safe thing to do is make a drive image before ANY update. 10 is a full installer to the best of my knowledge. If you have 9 installed, run the 10 installer. If it needs you to uninstall 9, it will tell you(but save that drive image or clone first). Mac users should check out Carbon Copy Cloner, and PC users should look at Acronis True Image as possible solutions.

Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and went straight to 10 and worked like a charm. A lot of work with all the downloads, but no technical glitches
That Avid Download Manager is kinda funky, I bypassed it and used iGetter (Mac) and moved much smoother.
