PTHD8 Installer Mac

Hello,

I had a backup hard drive go down and it had many old installers on it. One of those I need. I opened a ticket with Avid but there is a problem with their site regarding old installers. Some work, some don't basically.

If anybody has a PTHD8 installer for Mac that would be very grateful. (Google Drive, Dropbox)

I have every other installer bar this one, I always keep backups of backups. Alway the one you need!

Hello Janne,

Yes they should. They came back to me with LE installers (I asked for HD) and some broken links, hence why I have asked here. I will wait a few more days and give them a chance to answer my reply.

The downloads section site is riddled with legacy broken links.

The internal server error for the knowledgebase is of course a deal killer. Once you get the error, you usually can't access that page for hours or maybe not until the next day. I've reported it, but who knows if they'll get the issue fixed.

If you do get through to the download page, there are two workarounds that may help you successfully download the installer. First, modern browsers view the download links as being unsecure and simply do nothing when you left-click on the link. If you click around in the downloads part of the browser, you may find a "download anyway" button. Or, you can simply right-click the link and choose "save link as" to trigger the download.

Second, some of the download links harken back to when Avid was using Akamai for content delivery. Akamai links always have "ak" as the first two letters in the address. If you copy the link address and paste it in the URL bar, delete the "ak" at the beginning and hit enter, you may find the download is still available after all.

If you refresh the page after you click it bombs out so went incognito and got them. Bonkers.

Ooooh, that's another good tip.

1. Incognito browser window
2. Right-mouse click save as
3. Delete "ak" from link
