HELP Digidesign 192 blue face A/D Delays

Hi im trying to find out what the A TO D input delay time is on a hd 192 interface so I know what to cut from the start of each overdub to keep them in line where they should actually be and I can't find the information anywhere

Pro Tools has performed this kind of compensation automatically long before plugin delay compensation was added. The only reason this may get broken is if you have high latency plugins on a master fader.

Hi thanks for the information. So unlike in mix 24 systems where you had to cut around 86 samples from the start of the audio I think if I remember right or something like that it's automatically taken from the audio?? im running pro tools HD 5.3.1
Is that right?

HD 5.3.1? Well that’s another story. If you don’t have the checkboxes to compensate after record pass in the I/O settings, then yes you’ll have to figure it out. Just loop out and back in analog playing from one track and recording to another and measure the offset.

Pre-6.0 has become hard to remember already. Whatever OS9 quirks where at that time, mostly long lost knowledge unless someone has good notes.

But yes, generally speaking difference between MIX and HD hardware (besides the obvious sampling rate upgrade) was that PT takes care of HD interface AD/DA latency automatically. Then plugin latency compensation kicked in at version 6.4
