How important is this data? Is he loaded? If it's really important and he's got some bucks, Drivesavers may be his best bet.

Otherwise something like Norton may be able to recover some of the data. If he reinitialized the drive and reinstalled the OS, it's very likely hosed most everything, unfortunately.

sounds like a job for DiskWorrier from http://www.alsoft.com

but it only works if NOTHING ELSE has been written on the drive since the formatting.

if data have already been written on the disk recovery will be only partial or none at at all.

AVOID Norton if possible!!!!

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know if a Windows will recognize a Mac OS formatted drive, if I hook it up to my system?

What file system do macs use: FAT32?

Mac Filesystem is HFS+.
