portable laptop tracking
Sorry for the redundancy. I have worked on full blown PT systems for 7 years, but haven't kept up with the remote laptop paradigm of late. I need to (multi) track on location for a modest budget. please consider: ibook (600)?, FW audio interfaces (8 tracks w/ pre's.)?, FW drives, midi interfaces (i'll need to track that too). Everything i track will be imported into my main system. I would very much appreciate advice, pros and cons, feedback from users. please consider portability (and simplicity). Thank you for your valuable time and resource.

Re: portable laptop tracking
Your only Pro Tools option is the 002 really. I've had mine since the day it was released and it's worked flawlessly on my Pismo Powerbook 500. You will need an AC outlet for the 002 though.
