That also explains why the switch to Mix view shortcut wasn't responding until I hit Enter. I was unknowingly in the comment box.

I'll create a ticket for good measure and have no problem using mix view to enter or edit comments for now.

Thanks for the ticket. Maybe link to this thread and emphasise that it's a long standing issue affecting all Windows users as well.

Absolutely.
I'm surprised I didn't remember the comments box that's always been available when double clicking on the track name. I'm always just in & out of there when entering a track name.
Now I actually like opening the comments box from the track name because of better text visibility when typing.

But a fix is still welcome and helps forget about a noticeable little flaw in something purchased for a pretty penny.

I'll just tell myself "it adds character" like a paint chip on a guitar.
The guitar still plays but you'd rather the chip not be there.
