Can't see changes while editing Comments in Edit window on Windows OS [PT-228098]

That also explains why the switch to Mix view shortcut wasn't responding until I hit Enter. I was unknowingly in the comment box.

I'll create a ticket for good measure and have no problem using mix view to enter or edit comments for now.

It would be great if it were fixed. If I remember correctly I pretty much got a shrug when I mentioned it before.

For what it's worth, I've gotten used to double clicking the track name field which also brings up the comments box in the edit window.

Just realized that I'm now experiencing this issues since I upgraded to 2022.6 - problems entering comments in Comments field in Edit view, while it works fine in Mix view. Anyone heard any updates from Avid? Thanks.

I recently heard back from AVID support and there is still no ETA on a fix.
The reference # is PT-228098.

At least the suggested workarounds are feasible.

Agree with OP on all points. Oddly, I don't recall having this issue before I upgraded to the most recent version.

I can confirm that I also have this bug, wow, Pro Tools just keep piling up bugs... Fix some, bring others, and don't even fix ones they claim they fixed.

Personally, as I use 2 screens, I just enter comments on the MIX window. If you are only using a single screen....well, I could never go back(but yes, I wish it would get fixed).

I have 3 screens, but after switching to Windows last year I'm stuck on one with PT (a larger 1440p one thankfully). The problem is that my screens have to physically extend to the left (and up), so I'm used to having the Edit in frond of me and the Mix on the left, but opening recall notes etc documents in between the 2 PT windows, to the right side of the main Edit window.

On Pro Tools Windows. this is not possible due to the horrible and dated Parent / Child windowing design. So *that* is the real bug I would need fixed (just have the top bar dropdown menus integrated / selectable in to the Edit and/or Mix Window, and have a independetly sized "no session open" start window with the menus on it.

But this text edit bug? It appeared on my system when I built it, in the end of 2021 so at least in 2021.10 I'd say. Note, that I used Windows 11 from the start, even when it was unsupported.

3 screens here too, but mine are stacked. The PT parent window only fills the 2 larger screens. I put Memory Locations, System usage and the FabFilter ProQ 3 that's on my master track for the spectral display and hi-res metering
