Digi 002 power problem (Rev G WITH the new harnes)

hey everyone, i'm having serious power problems with my Digi 002... I bought the unit "open box" from a local music store. everything looked in good shape. I got it home, fired up PT 6.9 (included) and it worked fine. I recorded some drums for about 4 to 5 hours on the unit with absolutley no problems.

then... BOOM.

the sample rate light and the 1394 light both shut off. The mute light stays on.
*symptoms of the common Power harness issue? yes. BUT i have the new harness installed...*

If i shut off the unit and unplug the power, then plug it back in and turn it on. it clicks 3 times and turns on as usual. But within a minute it will shut itself off. I cannot get it to stay on for over 2 minutes.

i went ahead and opened it up. i cleaned out the Molex harness with some electronics cleaner and a guitar string. i also cleaned the other power cables coming from the outlet plug.

and still nothing.

I know this is a hardware problem and not a software problem because we tried it on 2 differant PC's with no luck.

Is my power supply garbage? or is the new and improved wire harness crapping out on me?

I'm confused. and i dont want to return the unit because i got a nice discount on it for buying it "open box"

I keep losing my 1394 connection on my 002R too, and like you I have installed a new power harness. The problem is happening very occasionally and as yet I am not sure if it is definitely the harness...
Anyone else have the same issues?

Yes....I have one ending in G. Sometimes I have to re-start the computer to regain connection. Also, most times I just leave PT open so I don't have to go through the loading phase again.

at this point the unit will literally only stay on for 30-50 seconds... somtimes less. I can't record anything with it. someone help!

the tech support from digi told me it sounds like the harness. but like i said.. i have a new one?

he wouldnt send me a new harness because i have a Rev G unit... i thought that was strange.

well im sick of dealing with this thing... so i'm gonna go ahead and return it tonight. probibly snag a fresh sealed box one.

I sure wish i could still get an 001. i miss that reliable bastard.

I have been thru the harness replacement twice, with the same 002. Both times I replaced the harness with a new one and it fixed my problem... It has been working solid for the last year with the 2nd replacement and today it craps out again. Now when I open any session, the 002 disconnects itself within 5 seconds of being open. I know people out there who have no problems with any of their LE hardware... I wish digi would just replace lemon units with working refirbs or something already....
